A federal court in Georgia has ordered a hotel to pay a 15-year-old girl $164 million after finding it allowed a sex trafficking ring to operate on its premises. The victim was held at the Super 8 hotel in College Park, Georgia, in 2020 and 2021, where she was sexually assaulted by her captors and their clients.

Hotel Found Liable for Facilitating Sex Trafficking

The victim’s attorney, Patrick McDonough, stated that the hotel operator warned traffickers if police were approaching, creating an environment where children were sold. The jury awarded $44 million in compensatory damages and $120 million in punitive damages to the girl, who was held for about 120 days.

This case is not the first of its kind in Georgia. Last year, a $40 million verdict was awarded to a 16-year-old woman who was trafficked by a hotel in DeKalb County, making it the first such case in the state. Currently, three other hotels are facing civil lawsuits for sex trafficking in Georgia.

Sex Trafficking Cases Spread Across Multiple States

Georgia is not the only state where hotels are being accused of participating in sex trafficking. According to the Lawsuit Information Center, there are currently two hotels in New Jersey being sued for sex trafficking. Similar cases are also under investigation in Los Angeles, Ohio, Philadelphia, and other locations.

Breitbart News has reported multiple instances where hotels and motels have been accused of facilitating or ignoring sex trafficking. In Virginia, an Indian family named Sharma was arrested for allowing drug and sex trafficking at their Red Carpet Inn in Dumfries. In Nebraska, federal authorities raided a group of Indian nationals involved in a scheme that included sex, labor, and drug trafficking, with businesses in Georgia and Texas also implicated.

Additionally, Kavankumar Patel, an illegal migrant from India, was sentenced to ten years in prison for participating in a child sex-trafficking ring in Omaha, Nebraska, according to the Department of Justice.
