This website (“the Site”) is operated by News, North Macedonia (“we”, “us”). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for personal data processed through this Site.

2. What data we collect
2.1 Data you give us
- Comments. When you leave a comment we collect the name, email address and comment text you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection.
- Contact messages. If you write to us, we keep your message and contact details in order to reply.
2.2 Data collected automatically
- Server and security logs. Our infrastructure records IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and user agents. These logs are used to keep the Site available and to detect abuse.
- Cookies. See section 5 and our Cookie Policy.
2.3 Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content (videos, social media posts, images). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that website, and those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
3. Why we process your data, and on what legal basis

4. How long we keep it
- Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically. You may request deletion at any time.
- Server logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted or anonymised.
- Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and then archived or deleted.
5. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Site — these do not require consent. Any cookies used for analytics, personalisation or advertising are set only after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers acting as processors on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery, TLS termination and DDoS protection. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata. See Cloudflare’s own privacy documentation for details.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
- lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

8. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. Access to the administration area is restricted and protected by strong authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
9. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change.
