Scott: GOP Will Retain Senate, Possibly Expand Majority
Sen. Tim Scott predicts Republicans will hold Senate majority in November and potentially expand it.

Sen. Tim Scott, the Republican chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has declared that the GOP will retain control of the U.S. Senate in November and may even expand its majority. Scott emphasized that the Democrats are running a slate of far-left candidates who lack widespread support. As the final stretch of the midterm elections approaches, the GOP is preparing an aggressive campaign strategy to protect and expand its Senate seats.
Currently, the Senate is split 53-47 in favor of Republicans, forcing Democrats to defend all their vulnerable seats while also attempting to flip four Republican-held seats to gain control. Scott highlighted that the GOP has access to over $400 million in campaign funds from the NRSC, Senate Leadership Fund, and MAGA Inc. This financial firepower, combined with the presence of high-profile figures like former President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, positions the Republicans for a strong push in key battleground states.

Scott criticized several Democratic candidates, labeling them as extreme and lacking broad support. He pointed to Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed as “perhaps the most radical, dangerous, and weird Democrat candidate in the field,” citing his positions on immigration enforcement and policing. In Texas, Scott argued that James Talarico would struggle against Attorney General Ken Paxton, whom he believes will keep the state “ruby red.”
NRSC Chair Tim Scott just did a call with reporters. He said that “Republicans will hold the Senate majority without any question” and said it’s “not outside the realm of reason” for them to pick up seats (He says NH, Mich., Minn., and Ga. are all still pick-up opportunities)…
Meanwhile, Republicans are targeting several pick-up opportunities, including former Rep. Mike Rogers in Michigan and Mike Collins in Georgia. In Minnesota, former sportscaster Michele Tafoya has emerged as a strong contender against Democratic Sen. Peggy Flanagan, with Scott calling her “perhaps the best recruit in Minnesota in half a century.”
Scott acknowledged that the races remain extremely close but expressed confidence in the GOP’s ability to secure victory with the available resources and the momentum from key endorsements and campaign events. “Cash is king,” he said, emphasizing that the party has the financial and strategic tools to deliver its message effectively.
