Will Friedle, the star of the 90s hit series ‘Boy Meets World,’ recently shared a harrowing experience of being rushed to the hospital due to a severe kidney stone health scare. The 50-year-old actor described the incident during a recent episode of the podcast ‘Pod Meets World,’ co-hosted by former co-stars Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong.

A Terrifying Bathroom Incident

Friedle explained that he was in the bathroom when he suddenly realized something was gravely wrong. ‘You just think you’re going to the bathroom and then you’re like, “Oh my God, something inside me is horribly broken,”’ he said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Friedle’s wife, Susan Martens, noticed his distress immediately after he exited the bathroom. ‘She looks at me and she could tell she’s like, “You had no color in your face,”’ he recalled. ‘I was like, “Well, because I just peed it all away… I need to go to the hospital.”’

Friedle humorously noted that his hospital visit made him feel more famous than ever. ‘For some reason on this day in that hospital, I was more famous than I’ve ever been in my life,’ he joked. ‘And one of the nurses comes up to me and does the “Feeny Call” — the catchphrase his character used on the show to get Mr. Feeny’s attention.’

Diagnosis and Treatment

A CT scan later confirmed that Friedle was suffering from a kidney stone. Doctors determined that the actor could pass the stone naturally without the need for a more invasive procedure, but warned that the process could be extremely painful. Despite the recommendation for opioids, Friedle chose not to use the medication, citing his desire to avoid the risks associated with it.

‘I’m going to do my best to not go anywhere near that stuff. Too many horror stories,’ he said on the podcast, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Reflection on the Experience

Friedle’s experience highlights the unexpected and often severe nature of kidney stones, which can lead to significant discomfort and require urgent medical attention. His candid recounting of the incident has sparked conversations about health awareness and the importance of timely medical care.
