Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson made headlines after expressing confidence that President Donald Trump will win the midterms during a recent visit to the White House. Tyson, who attended a press briefing in the White House press room, confirmed he will join Trump at his rally in Syracuse, New York, later that evening.

During the briefing, Tyson was asked by Lindell TV’s Cara Castronuova whether he believes Republicans will win the midterms. Tyson responded, “I believe Donald Trump is going to win.” He also confirmed that Trump had invited him to the rally, expressing excitement about the event.

Before departing the White House, Trump spoke briefly with reporters and praised Tyson, calling him a long-time fan and friend. “I won’t be fighting him today, but I’ve been his fan for a long time. We’ve been friends for a long time, Iron Mike, ain’t nobody like him,” Trump said.

Trump also mentioned that Tyson would be joining them in Syracuse to support local candidates, including Bruce Blakeman and a few congressmen. “We’re fighting for a great gentleman, you know, Bruce Blakeman and a couple of congressmen, and we think we have a chance at the Congress too, the two, and we’ll have a good time,” he added.

Although details of Tyson’s recent meeting with Trump remain unclear, it was reported that Tyson had given the President a letter from Sean “Diddy” Combs in January. Tyson recently shared insights about the exchange on an episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.”

As Tyson and Trump left the White House together, they boarded Marine One, heading to the New York rally. Tyson’s presence at the event has drawn attention, given his status as a cultural icon and his past association with Trump.
