Twin pastors Chad and James Hampton, founders of Huntin’ the Truth Ministries, say their passion for hunting is rooted in a biblical mandate. They point to Genesis 1:26, which states, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ The Hamptons interpret this verse as a divine commission to manage and care for God’s creation.

A Ministry of Restoration and Outreach

The Hamptons see hunting not just as a recreational activity, but as a tool for restoration and relationship-building. Their ministry, Huntin’ the Truth Ministries, provides guided hunts for physically challenged men, youths without a father figure, and others in need of mentorship. Through these experiences, they aim to connect individuals with Jesus Christ and foster a sense of purpose and community.

Chad Hampton explained, ‘We know that God’s given us that food to manage and also consume so that we can be what He’s created us to be.’ He emphasized the importance of stewardship, stating, ‘We’re managing God’s creation that He gave to us.’ This belief underpins their mission to create and restore relationships with Jesus Christ through the outdoors.

Founders and Background

Both brothers graduated from Rochester Christian University and currently pastor churches in Michigan. Their ministry has expanded beyond local outreach, gaining national attention for its unique approach to faith and outdoor engagement. The Hamptons have also assisted other ministries and organizations in developing their own hunting and outdoor programs, furthering their vision of spiritual and community restoration.

As they continue to grow their impact, the Hamptons remain committed to their foundational belief: that hunting is not just an activity, but a divine calling to manage and care for God’s creation.
