Oregon Leftists Clash with ICE Officers Amid Anti-Enforcement Protests

On Saturday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were confronted by a group of anti-ICE activists in Salem, Oregon, during a targeted enforcement operation. The incident occurred near a Walgreens on Lancaster Drive, according to reports from the Post Millennial’s Katie Daviscourt.
Violence and Crowd Control Measures
Daviscourt reported that anti-ICE ‘rapid response’ networks mobilized to disrupt the operation. Some members of the group brought weapons and used violence against officers, prompting the use of crowd control measures such as tear gas and pepper balls, as captured in bystander video.
One video showed a person in dark clothing striking the side mirror of a black SUV with a baseball bat. Another individual was heard yelling, “Get the fuck out of Salem!” Moments later, one of the black SUVs collided with a silver vehicle, pushing it out of the way.
Antifa’s Involvement
Daviscourt noted that individuals associated with the group known as Antifa were also present at the scene. In 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, citing its pattern of political violence aimed at suppressing lawful political activity and obstructing the rule of law.
Federal sources told Daviscourt that local and state law enforcement did not assist in managing the crowd of weapon-wielding rioters attacking ICE agents, allowing them to escape to safety. “We are on our own,” the sources said.
ICE Surge in Oregon
Video posted earlier in the week showed ICE officers grappling with multiple leftists who had surrounded them outside a gas station. The leftists were seen waving foreign flags at the officers’ vehicles. Daviscourt reported that ICE has been actively increasing its presence in Oregon, marking the first significant surge since last year.
The surge comes as the Trump administration continues efforts to identify and deport criminal illegal aliens who have caused issues in communities nationwide. Breitbart News reported that ICE recently arrested individuals convicted of child sexual abuse, burglary, and drug trafficking, among other crimes.
