A man reportedly fell to his death from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia near Atlanta on Monday, according to police. The incident, which left several others injured, was captured in a souvenir photo available for purchase after the ride.

Authorities confirmed one person died and multiple others were hurt, though they did not immediately disclose the cause of the accident. A Six Flags spokesperson expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends, and loved ones.”

Witnesses Describe the Tragedy

According to 11Alive, the man was on the ride with a child. A witness on the coaster told the outlet that he struck other passengers as he fell before landing on the roof of a haunted house attraction. “He was in our pictures,” the witness said, referring to the souvenir photos available for purchase. “He fell and hit the car three different times.”

Witnesses reported that Six Flags workers checked the restraints before the ride began. The park team and local authorities responded immediately to the incident, and the park stated it is cooperating fully with the investigation.

Previous Incidents and Ride Closures

The incident occurred around 4 p.m., and riders were evacuated from the coaster. A previous death on the Goliath ride happened in 2006 when a 45-year-old man suffered an apparent heart attack. Authorities inspected the coaster afterward and found it was operating properly.

In August, The Daily Wire reported on X2, a different coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, after a CNN investigation linked the ride to serious injuries and two deaths. Six Flags closed X2 in July and announced in late September that it would permanently retire the ride after several lawsuits claimed it caused brain injuries.
