Westchester County Ballot Scanners Malfunction, Voters Use Orange Bags
Westchester County faces ballot scanner issues, voters cast ballots in orange bags as officials work to resolve the problem.

Westchester County, New York, faced a widespread ballot scanner malfunction on Election Day as voting machines failed to process ballots, forcing voters to place their ballots in orange bags. The issue, reported by the Westchester County Board of Elections, is attributed to the thickness of paper ballots, which is preventing the machines from accepting them at polling locations countywide.
Officials urged voters to remain in line and complete their ballots as instructed. Ballots placed in orange emergency bags will be sent to the Board of Elections for counting, with these ballots to be counted before those cast through the machines. The board instructed poll workers to check voters in and provide them with ballots, while technicians work to resolve the problems.
Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents part of the county, tweeted that there is a problem with every ballot scanner in Westchester County. He stated, “We do not yet know the exact cause of the issue, whether it is the ballot or the machine. The Board of Elections is working with their vendors to resolve it.” Lawler added, “However, every ballot will be counted. Stay on line and vote. Do not leave the polling place without voting.”

The RNC’s election integrity unit said they are “on the ground and in contact with local election officials,” urging voters not to be deterred by the so-called error. They wrote, “We have extra observers deployed to ensure voters can still cast their votes by paper ballot.” Voters can report concerns at protectthevote.com.

Corrupt far-left New York Attorney General Letitia James also addressed the situation, assuring voters that they “can still safely fill out and turn in their ballots at their polling locations.”
