U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has narrowly won reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 13th Congressional District, securing her third term in the House after a close race in the midterm elections.

On Thursday, two days after Election Day, the Associated Press called the race for Luna (R-Fla.), who received 155,117 votes, or 49.5%, defeating Democratic nominee Leela Gray, a retired Army Brigadier General. Luna won by approximately 2,500 votes, with 99% of the total votes counted.

37-year-old Luna, who was first elected in 2023, has positioned herself as a key advocate for conservative policies, including tax cuts, border security, and economic growth. Her campaign focused on lowering costs and taxes by eliminating income taxes on Social Security benefits, tips, and overtime, capping student loan interest rates at 3%, and reducing prescription drug costs.

Policy Priorities and Legislative Plans

Luna also supported a strong border policy and pushed for drug cartels to be designated as foreign terrorist organizations. She has already discussed legislation she plans to pass after the election, including establishing term limits for members of Congress. Additionally, she has stated she will no longer accept PAC or foreign interest money.

Gray, the Democratic candidate, focused on improving affordability by reducing homeowners insurance premiums, expanding affordable housing, cutting taxes for the middle class, eliminating tariffs, and making childcare more accessible. She also supported restoring the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to improve healthcare access and emphasized government accountability, including a ban on members of Congress trading individual stocks while in office.

Political and Public Support

President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Luna in 2025, calling her a “MAGA Warrior” and a “WINNER,” and highlighted her commitment to economic growth, border security, and restoring American energy dominance.

The race reflects broader national trends, with voters prioritizing economic concerns, healthcare, and border security. Luna’s narrow victory underscores the competitiveness of the district and the importance of these issues in shaping the political landscape.
