Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has publicly reaffirmed his support for President Donald Trump, stating he stands ‘firmly behind’ the administration and its ‘historic reforms.’ In a recent post on X, Kennedy highlighted the Trump administration’s efforts to reform food policies, including rewriting federal dietary guidelines to emphasize real food, securing commitments from major food companies to remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes, and launching systematic reviews of chemicals in the food supply.

Advocating for Health Policy Reforms

Kennedy emphasized that ‘draining the swamp’ is a mandate, and the administration has an obligation to deliver. He criticized entrenched interests that have influenced Washington for decades, stating that the Trump administration is committed to fighting until ‘the American people—not corporate influence—drive our health policies.’

‘I stand firmly behind President Trump and the historic reforms we are advancing together,’ Kennedy wrote. ‘In less than two years, this administration has rewritten federal dietary guidelines to emphasize real food, secured commitments from major food companies to remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes and other additives, launched systematic reviews of chemicals already in our food supply, and proposed requiring companies to notify the FDA before introducing ingredients they independently deem safe.’

Democrats Demand Resignation

Kennedy’s post comes amid growing pressure from Democrats, including Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), who have called for his resignation. Warnock stated, ‘Unless RFK Jr. is interested in spending the next two years in front of Congressional committees, he should go ahead and resign now.’

Alsobrooks added, ‘The time is now. RFK Jr. must resign or be fired. End of discussion.’

These calls for resignation come as the Trump administration continues its push for food-ingredient reform, including efforts to address ultra-processed foods and prioritize children’s health in federal policy. Kennedy has pledged to continue pushing these priorities across the administration and work with anyone in either party who supports them.
