Islamic terrorist group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) has returned to parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), according to the International Christian Concern (ICC). The group, known for its brutal attacks, has re-entered Lubero territory in North Kivu, where they carried out a violent assault on November 3.

Violent Attack in Maikengu Village

ICC reports that attackers looted homes and businesses before setting fire to houses, shops, and pharmacies. As news of the attack spread, residents began fleeing for safety, leaving behind their homes and livelihoods. One Christian was found killed with a machete, while many others remain unaccounted for.

Jannette, a local woman, told ICC, “We have already lost so much to Ebola disease, and now we are afraid of losing even more.” The DRC is still battling a serious Ebola outbreak, leaving many civilians, especially Christians, caught between natural and man-made disasters.

Christian Martyred in Libya

In Libya, another Christian was martyred. Egyptian Christian Milad Malak, a Coptic deacon from Sebarbay, was kidnapped by ISIS jihadis on October 4. He had moved to Libya in search of work but found himself in another Islamic dictatorship.

Malak’s friends were released after their families paid a $4,700 ransom, but he was refused release due to his Christian faith. His captors violently pressured him to convert to Islam, but he remained steadfast in his beliefs. “Even if you cut me into pieces, I would never renounce my faith,” he told his persecutors before being killed.

Milad’s sister, Madonna Malek, shared the family’s anguish, noting that they had paid a ransom but were left with the tragic loss of her brother. The incident highlights the dangers Christians face in regions plagued by Islamic terrorism.

Islamic Terrorism in Libya

Libya remains one of the most dangerous places for Christians, with ISIS, al-Qaeda, and other jihadi groups operating within the country. Approximately 97% of Libyans are Muslim, and the U.S. government has long expressed concern about the deadly Islamic terrorism that continues to threaten the region.
