Fox News has named Larry Kudlow as the interim host of Maria Bartiromo’s former program, Sunday Morning Futures, following her sudden departure from the network. Kudlow will take over the show from September 25 through November 8, the Sunday after the midterm elections. The network has yet to announce a permanent replacement for Bartiromo.

Kudlow’s Background and Political Ties

Larry Kudlow, a well-known figure among conservative audiences, particularly within the Trump camp, has a long history of economic and political commentary. He previously served as the director of the National Economic Council and assistant to the president for economic policy during Trump’s first administration, from 2018 to 2021. After Trump’s first term, Kudlow joined Fox Business in 2021 and now hosts the eponymous show “Kudlow” at 4 PM ET on weekdays.

Kudlow also had a significant role at CNBC, where he hosted several programs, including the post-market analysis show “The Kudlow Report.” Additionally, he worked as an associate director for economics and planning at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) during the Ronald Reagan administration and held a senior position at Bear Stearns as chief economist and managing director.

Bartiromo’s Departure and Legal Dispute

Bartiromo left Fox News earlier this month after leaking internal texts to the White House that revealed the network instructed staff to stop amplifying ‘election conspiracies’ Trump spread during his speech. While initial reports suggested she was fired, Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, denied these claims, stating they were “absolutely and unequivocally false.” Freedman claimed Bartiromo’s legal team has evidence and witnesses supporting their position.

Bartiromo later shared a cryptic message on social media, expressing gratitude for her supporters and hinting at more to come. The situation has left many within the network and its audience speculating about the reasons behind her departure and the future of Fox News’ programming.
