Crockett, who lost her primary race to Talarico, has expressed disappointment with his support base, suggesting that the black community is not enthusiastic about endorsing him.

Talarico defeated Crockett in the primary race for the Senate seat, and she has been less than enthusiastic about supporting him. Instead, she has pointed to racism as a factor in her loss, noting that Talarico holds radical views on gender identity, believing there are six biological sexes. Crockett has also highlighted the presence of other strong black candidates running for office, which she claims are more aligned with the interests of the community.

Before the endorsement decision, Crockett avoided questions about whether she would campaign for her former challenger. She stated she was more focused on downballot races, deflecting any potential support for Talarico. Her PAC, FIRE, released a list of candidates it is backing ahead of the midterms, which notably excluded Talarico.

Former Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) criticized Crockett’s decision, calling her a ‘narcissistic drama queen’ who has used her platform for personal gain. In response, Crockett defended her stance in a lengthy social media post, stating she would not spend any energy on negative or false information. She claimed that Talarico did not apply for endorsement and that she would focus on supporting other candidates who have been endorsed by FIRE PAC.
