President Donald Trump has intensified his criticism of Fox News, accusing the network of favoring Democratic guests and promoting negative narratives ahead of the midterm elections. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump expressed frustration over the channel’s recent programming choices.
Trump’s Outspoken Criticism
Trump took to Truth Social to condemn Fox News for repeatedly featuring Democratic figures such as Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Jessica Tarlov, whom he claims are consistently critical of the Republican Party and himself. He accused the network of giving these guests more airtime than pro-Republican commentators, stating, “I actually think they get more airtime than Pro Republicans.”
Trump also criticized Fox News for perpetuating a “completely negative narrative,” which he said has been a challenge for his administration despite his electoral successes. “The opposition is enormous, but the fight goes on!” he wrote.
Navarro’s Sharp Remarks
White House Senior Counselor Peter Navarro joined the fray, criticizing Fox News for its alleged bias and alignment with the Democratic Party. Navarro, in an article for The Washington Times, called Fox News a “fake news” outlet, comparing it to CNN with better lighting. He further stated that the network, despite its conservative branding, has blacked out a Republican president and aligned itself with CNN, calling it “more dangerous.”
Navarro also highlighted the network’s tendency to remove journalists who are willing to cover the MAGA agenda honestly, citing the firing of Lou Dobbs and Tucker Carlson as examples.
Feud Intensifies with Fox’s Internal Struggles
The feud has deepened with the recent firing of Maria Bartiromo, a prominent Fox News host known for her pro-Trump stance. Allegations suggest that Bartiromo was providing the Trump administration with inside information on the network’s internal discussions.
Ironically, the conflict with Fox News may be one of the few areas where Trump and former Fox host Tucker Carlson find common ground, both expressing dissatisfaction with the network’s direction.
