Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) has warned that voters seeking lower gas prices should avoid electing Democrats, arguing that their policies would keep prices high. During a recent Breitbart News Fight Club Roundtable, Moreno emphasized the importance of highlighting Republican achievements while addressing concerns over fuel costs.

Republicans Should Focus on Accomplishments

Moreno urged Republicans to shift their messaging from defensive to offensive, emphasizing the need to communicate their successes. He acknowledged the current high gas prices but suggested they are a temporary issue that would resolve itself once conflicts are resolved. However, he warned that allowing Democrats to take office would lead to permanently elevated prices, citing the Biden administration as an example.

Gas Prices Remain at Record Highs

The national average price for regular gasoline was $4.41 per gallon on October 1, down slightly from the previous week but still the highest recorded for this time of year. September’s average of $4.33 was 50 cents above the previous September record set in 2023 under the Biden administration.

Moreno Praises Trump’s Economic Policies

Moreno praised the Trump administration for its efforts to modernize government operations, reduce the federal workforce, combat fraud, and lower prescription drug prices. He highlighted the reduction of nearly 400,000 federal workers as a significant tax cut for American taxpayers.

Focus on Reducing Fraud and Debt

Moreno emphasized the need to address fraud, which he said has cost hundreds of billions of dollars. He called for a stronger focus on reducing the national debt and lowering debt payments, suggesting that these efforts should be a central part of the Republican platform.
