Three 18-year-old female college students were brutally attacked and robbed by a group of older teens in Cincinnati, Ohio, according to a report by WKRC. The incident, captured in a graphic video, occurred near the University of Cincinnati campus on Wednesday night.
Attack at Wingstop
The victims, who were riding personal electric scooters, were confronted by at least eight older teens at a Wingstop location. The video shows the teens violently beating the students, with one girl receiving repeated punches to the face and another being jumped and assaulted. The three girls were severely injured and taken to UC Medical Center for treatment.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
Police arrested four of the youths and charged them with aggravated robbery. One of the victims was able to recover her scooter. Authorities are still searching for the remaining suspects involved in the attack.
Victims’ Accounts
The victims described the incident as sudden and violent. One of them said, “We were crossing the crosswalk. They were blocking at the end of the crosswalk right by Wingstop for us to get onto it. We were bombarded by yelling and cussing and threats and saying things that we didn’t know what they were talking about.” Another victim added, “My friend gets hit in the face. Four girls jump on me.”
Parental Concerns and Recent Violence
A mother of one of the victims shared that her daughter was so badly injured that she was crying in the back of an ambulance. This incident is part of a pattern of violence near the University of Cincinnati campus, with seven people shot in five separate incidents from late August through early September.
Political Response
Ohio GOP gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy condemned the attack, calling it a reflection of the “sad state of lawlessness on the streets of Cincinnati.” He urged Ohioans to take the issue seriously and consider it in the upcoming election.
