Trump Slams CNN Over Polls on Latino Support
President Trump criticizes CNN for fake polls on Latino approval, accusing the outlet of being fake news.

President Donald Trump sharply criticized CNN on Monday for what he called fake polling data on his support among Latino voters, accusing the outlet of being entirely fabricated. During a press encounter at the White House as he prepared to leave for a campaign rally in Nebraska, Trump turned his ire on CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent, Kristen Holmes, after she asked about recent polling showing only 27% of Latinos approve of him.
Trump Calls Polls and CNN ‘Fake’
Trump dismissed the poll numbers as part of a broader attack on his administration, claiming that the data was misleading and that the results did not reflect the reality of his support. “You’re CNN, you’re fake news,” he said, adding that his crowd sizes at rallies were proof of his popularity.
The polling data, from NBC and Telemundo, indicated that two-thirds of Latinos believe Trump’s immigration enforcement policies have gone too far, and three-quarters disapprove of how he has managed the economy and cost of living. Trump, however, dismissed these findings, arguing that the polls were biased and not reflective of the public’s true sentiment.
Escalating Attacks on CNN
Trump’s criticism of CNN has intensified since he removed the network, along with MS Now and Politico, from the White House press pool last month. The White House has since banned CNN and Politico from accessing Air Force One, prompting the outlets to seek a court order to restore their access to the White House and the President.
Despite the legal battle, Trump has continued to attack CNN for its coverage of his administration, including a recent video compilation of his criticisms of the network and its reporters. During a rally in Ohio, he faced a loud crowd that echoed his accusations, chanting “fake news” and “f*ck CNN.”
Legal and Media Tensions
The situation highlights the growing tension between the Trump administration and major media outlets, with the White House accusing CNN of bias and the network defending its journalistic integrity. As the legal dispute continues, the media landscape remains under intense scrutiny, with implications for press freedom and political communication.
