Chris Pratt has shared a deeply personal spiritual experience while filming his upcoming documentary, “Pétros Ení – Discovering the Origins.” The actor revealed that the project, which explores the archaeological discoveries of St. Peter at the Vatican, had a profound impact on his faith.

During a recent interview with Variety, Pratt described the use of IMAX drone cameras to capture the tomb of St. Peter, which he called a “profound” experience that redefined his Catholic faith.

“It was really profound to be encountering the remains of one of Jesus’ apostles,” he said. “It was a prophetic word; he said that the church will be built upon that rock. And Simon Peter is the rock.”

Pratt spoke about the personal significance of the moment, noting the connection between the historical site and the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

“To be there, and to see the church some 2,000 years later, and see the prophecy of his words come true, it just was really meaningful to me,” he told Variety.

“Pétros Ení” is a deep dive into the archaeological discoveries of St. Peter at the Vatican, taking audiences on a journey grounded in faith and history at one of Christianity’s most significant sites.

Pratt expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Pope Leo and the Vatican on the project, emphasizing its importance to the Christian faith.

“The story of St. Peter is foundational to the Christian faith, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and access I was given to bring his legacy to the screen,” he said.

The documentary is slated for an international theatrical release in February 2027, offering audiences a unique glimpse into one of the most significant religious sites in the world.
