S西班牙 police have uncovered a shocking case of human trafficking and exploitation in Ceuta, where a man was arrested for allegedly housing and exploiting 74 illegal migrants in a squalid two-story residence. The discovery, made during a broader anti-illegal migration operation in the El Principe neighborhood, has been described as a ‘Horror House’ by local media.

Exploitation and Abuse Allegations

The arrested man, identified as a ‘Muslim man’ by local outlets, is accused of subjecting the migrants to intimidation, violence, and forced labor. The migrants, including 54 adult men, 10 women, and 10 minor children, were housed in a cramped and unsanitary environment with a single toilet and no shower. Some of the minors reportedly showed signs of physical abuse, including injuries from dog bites.

According to law enforcement sources, the man allegedly charged the migrants between 10 to 20 euros per day, pocketing over 1,000 euros daily. Most of the migrants lived on the streets during the day and returned to the residence past midnight. One woman was allegedly made to sleep with the man instead of paying the fee.

Forced Labor and Criminal Network

The investigation revealed that several of the migrants were forced to work on construction sites managed by the accused, where their only payment was a snack. The man was also accused of running a human trafficking network that facilitated illegal migration into mainland Spain.

UCRIF, the Spanish National Police’s anti-illegal migration unit, warned residents that anyone attempting to exploit undocumented migrants would be detained. This case is now the largest known instance of such exploitation in Ceuta, highlighting the ongoing challenges of illegal migration in the region.
