ICE Raids Sanctuary States, Arrests Convicted Criminals

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has conducted raids in sanctuary jurisdictions, targeting illegal aliens with violent criminal records. Among those arrested are individuals convicted of murder, child rape, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin praised ICE’s efforts, stating, “Every day, the brave men and women of ICE are risking their lives to arrest and remove illegal aliens from our communities. Yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and other dangerous criminals.”

Esteban Enriquez-Munoz of Mexico was arrested in California after being convicted of murder, robbery, and assault. Similarly, Viengxay Chaleunphong of Laos was arrested in Massachusetts for three counts of child rape and assault on a child under 14 years old. Jendrick Ordonez-Calate of Guatemala was arrested in Delaware for rape, following a conviction in Sussex County.

Jorge Avila-Velez of Mexico, previously convicted of possessing, viewing, or controlling 1,000 to 100,000 items of child sexual abuse material, was arrested in New Jersey. Hamza Boufnichal of Morocco, with a history of obstruction, false identification, grand larceny, and assault, was arrested in Fairfax, Virginia, a sanctuary jurisdiction.

Mullin emphasized that President Trump’s promise to make America safe again is being fulfilled by DHS. “We will never apologize for arresting and removing illegal aliens who should never have been in America in the first place,” he said.

These arrests highlight ICE’s ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws and remove individuals who pose a threat to public safety. The actions underscore the agency’s commitment to addressing criminal activity within the U.S. and its focus on sanctuary states, where local governments often resist federal immigration enforcement.
