A 19-year-old Nigerian national has been charged with murder and felony assault after fatally stabbing a 18-year-old UMass Dartmouth football player in a Wendy’s parking lot in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on September 19, 2026, following an altercation that began in a club line.
Incident Details and Victim Information
Marvins Antoine, a freshman running back for the UMass Dartmouth team and a graduate of Durfee High School in the Boston area, was stabbed in the chest and pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital. His teammate, Kensley Macean, 19, suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the head, neck, and arm.
According to the Providence Police Department, the suspect, Chukwunonso Uzoma David Uzoma Eze, fled the scene. License-plate cameras helped track his vehicle, leading to his arrest by UMass Dartmouth campus police. Eze pleaded not guilty to a fugitive-from-justice charge in New Bedford District Court and was ordered held without bail pending transfer to Rhode Island, where prosecutors plan to charge him with murder and felony assault.

Despite his legal status, Eze applied for employment authorization in 2023, which was rejected. He re-applied in February 2025, and his request remains pending. On September 21, 2026, he was arrested by the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department on a fugitive-from-justice warrant, just days before the fatal attack.
