Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has launched Muse for Small Business, an AI-powered tool designed to help small and medium-sized businesses streamline their operations and marketing efforts. The new tool connects Muse, Meta’s AI agent, to a range of workplace software including Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, Canva, and Slack, allowing business owners to manage tasks and campaigns through a single AI interface.

Integrated Marketing and Operations

Meta’s Muse for Small Business also links to Meta ad accounts and professional Instagram and Facebook profiles, enabling small business owners to handle marketing and operational tasks through one centralized AI agent. While Meta did not disclose pricing, it referenced its existing Muse app, which is free with usage limits and offers a paid subscription for users who exceed them.

Empowering Small Businesses with AI

Meta framed the launch around the concept of delegation, stating that users can assign tasks like running their business or finding new customers, and Muse will handle the execution. The company emphasized that small businesses have been growing on its platforms for nearly two decades and that they often lack time, not ideas, to scale their operations. Muse for Small Business is intended to bridge that gap.

Nathan Daggett, marketing lead for Live Bearded in Phoenix, Arizona, shared how Muse has benefited his business. He explained that AI acts as a great equalizer, providing data and analytics that were previously out of reach for small businesses. With Muse, he was able to analyze 87,000 customer reviews in minutes, generating a comprehensive strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis that would have taken him months to complete manually.

Part of a Broader AI Strategy

The launch of Muse for Small Business follows Meta’s recent announcement of a new enterprise platform that includes a Muse agent, a business agent, and a coding tool. The company has also hired former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to lead this initiative, signaling a broader push to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic in the business AI space. The timing of the announcement was also aligned with OpenAI’s developer day, highlighting the competitive landscape in the AI industry.

Muse itself has already made a strong debut, rising to the top of Apple’s App Store just days after its release, surpassing ChatGPT. Analysts expect the app to reach 100 million users within six to 12 months. This rapid growth underscores Meta’s strategic bet on AI as a business driver, a move backed by significant investment in AI talent, including the hiring of Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, who now leads Meta’s AI efforts.

At Meta’s Connect event last week, Mark Zuckerberg called Muse the “centerpiece” of his AI strategy, signaling the company’s long-term vision for leveraging AI to transform business operations and customer engagement.
