Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas has left one notable name off her list of endorsements for the November election: James Talarico, the Democrat who defeated her in the March primary. Talarico won by 54.5% to 46.2% of the vote, and Crockett later stated that Democrats ‘must remain united,’ as reported by Politico.

Talarico Not on PAC Endorsement List

Despite his victory, Talarico was not included on the list of 14 candidates supported by Crockett’s Fueling Individual Rights Everywhere (FIRE) PAC, as noted in a post on the social media platform X. This omission led to backlash from former Democratic Rep. Susan Wild of Pennsylvania, who accused Crockett of being more of a ‘diva than a Democrat,’ according to Fox News.

Wild criticized Crockett on X, calling her a ‘narcissistic drama queen’ who has used her platform ‘only to advance herself.’ She also expressed frustration with the media, urging them to focus on ‘FACTS’ and not ‘tabloid lane.’ Crockett responded with a sarcastic comment about the media being ‘corny groupies,’ while also calling for coverage of Governor Ken Paxton.

FIRE PAC Fundraising and Other Omissions

Fox News reported that Crockett’s FIRE PAC raised only $144,960 and has focused on local or state-level races. Notably, Gina Hinojosa, the Democratic candidate for governor of Texas, was also excluded from the endorsement list.

Newsweek highlighted that Crockett had previously criticized the lack of statewide Black candidates on the Democratic line. She told The Dallas Morning News that Black voter enthusiasm could be limited due to the absence of Black candidates. However, she noted that there is still time before the November election to address this issue.

Political Reactions and Implications

The exclusion of Talarico from Crockett’s endorsement list has sparked discussions about loyalty and party unity within the Democratic Party. While some, like Wild, have called out Crockett for her perceived self-interest, others may view the move as a strategic decision to support candidates who align more closely with her priorities.
