Michigan Senate race sees pivotal shift as Haley Stevens endorses Mike Rogers, altering voter dynamics.

Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers has claimed that Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens’ endorsement has significantly shifted the dynamics of the race, giving voters the confidence to support him over radical Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed. The endorsement, which came just days before Election Day, has been a pivotal moment in a highly competitive race that could determine control of the Senate.
Rogers Sees Endorsement as a Game-Changer
Rogers, speaking with The Daily Wire on the eve of the election, emphasized the impact of Stevens’ support. He said the endorsement provided “permission” to voters who were previously undecided or on the fence. “What it did is, it gave a lot of folks permission. We talked to a lot of people who were undecided or on the fence, weren’t sure what to do. This just helps them, I think, clarify,” Rogers said.
Stevens Withdraws Support Over El-Sayed’s Messaging
Stevens, who initially endorsed El-Sayed after losing the Democratic primary, withdrew her support citing concerns over his messaging on Israel. “My decision to withdraw my endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed and support Mike Rogers has angered many Democrats. I understand why. But it was not impulsive, and it was not made for me by anyone else. It was a decision of conscience,” she said.
Stevens also criticized El-Sayed for his relationship with Hasan Piker, a radical streamer who once made inflammatory remarks about 9/11. “I asked Abdul to reject that rhetoric clearly. I wasn’t asking him to change his platform,” Stevens said. “I was offering him an opportunity to reassure people, reject division, and demonstrate the leadership required of a United States Senator.”
Other Democrats Join Rogers’ Campaign
Following Stevens’ endorsement, another Democrat, former Rep. Hansen Clarke, also broke ranks to support Rogers. “Choi Clarke and I stand with Congresswoman Haley Stevens in supporting Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate,” Clarke said. “I served with Mike in the U.S. House of Representatives. I know that he is committed to improving the quality of our lives, protecting our nation’s security, and working with Democrats to get the job done.”
Rogers’ Policy Positions
Rogers has positioned himself as a moderate Republican, emphasizing his stance on foreign policy and trade. He has called for ending the war in Iran, phasing out tariffs on Canada, and implementing a temporary moratorium on data centers. These positions have been key in attracting a broader range of voters in a state where the Senate race is seen as a critical test for both parties.
