Times Square’s infamous ‘Naked Cowboy,’ Robert Burck, has endorsed Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman, calling for a leader who ‘sticks to the facts.’ In a post on X, Burck shared a video where he strummed a guitar with stickers reading ‘Bruce Blakeman for Governor’ and ‘www.FireMamdani.com,’ while singing a song that criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D).
Calling for Fiscal and Policy Reform
In the video, Burck criticized Hochul for her support of ‘open borders’ and for allowing ‘the bills’ to rise, stating that New York is ‘tired of the games and the tax.’ He called for a leader who ‘cracks down on crime’ and brings ‘common sense back to the governor’s place.’
‘New York is tired of the games and the tax. It’s time for a leader who sticks to the facts,’ Burck sang, while condemning Hochul for pushing a ‘radical scheme of left-wing delusion.’ The song also highlighted Blakeman’s ‘practical mind’ and his commitment to ‘leave these reckless, wild policies behind.’
Debate Highlights and Policy Stances
During an earlier debate in October, Blakeman criticized Hochul for supporting ‘criminal illegals’ and her refusal to hand over undocumented individuals to federal authorities. He argued that ICE has made his county, Nassau, safer by removing over 2,000 illegal migrants with criminal convictions.
Hochul claimed that ICE was ‘out of control’ in Nassau County, citing an anecdote about an 11-year-old boy whose father was detained in an ICE raid. Blakeman, however, rejected the emotional appeal, emphasizing that there has been no unrest or violence in his county during ICE operations.
Political Momentum and Support
Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport recently shared that he had voted for Blakeman over Hochul. Blakeman also noted that he has an ‘advantage’ over former EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, as Hochul did not have a ‘report card’ when Zeldin ran against her four years ago. He pointed out that New York has the ‘most overtaxed’ and ‘most overregulated’ state in the U.S., with electric bills 70 percent higher than the national average.
