Rock and roll icon and longtime Donald Trump supporter Ted Nugent electrified a crowd at a Trump rally in Wichita, Kansas, on Monday, delivering a fiery pre-show performance that underscored his unwavering loyalty to the former president.
Nugent took the stage to a roaring crowd, with fans chanting ‘USA’ as he launched into his hit song ‘Stranglehold,’ setting the tone for an energetic and politically charged event. He began his address by declaring his love for ‘real Kansas’ and ‘real America,’ calling the audience a group of ‘real music lovers’ who ‘deserve me.’
‘Look at you. Take a good look around you: Real America! I love real America,’ Nugent said, addressing the crowd with a mix of patriotism and personal conviction. He recounted a morning spent in a tree stand in Michigan, where he received a call from Trump, who invited him to ‘raise some hell’ in Kansas.
‘I got out of my tree stand — I don’t get out of my tree stand for nothing except freedom! I rock and rolled in Kansas. You people are real music lovers. I love you people,’ he continued, showcasing his signature blend of passion and charisma.
Nugent went on to label himself a ‘radical’ and ‘extremist,’ explaining his stance with a list of core beliefs centered around God, family, country, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and self-defense. ‘I believe my life pivots upon God, family, country, Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the 10 Commandments, the Golden Rule, work ethic, law and order, self-defense, private property rights!’ he proclaimed, emphasizing his alignment with traditional American values.
Despite his strong political rhetoric, Nugent also reminded the audience of his love for rock and roll, quipping, ‘Who doesn’t love the rock and roll?’ His performance and speech reflected a deep connection to both his music and his political ideology, leaving the crowd energized and engaged.
