A database from a 2011 data breach of Fling.com, an online dating and hook-up website, has revealed the email address of Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. The account, created under the username ‘mohawk787’, lists interests such as ‘FETISH’, ‘GROUPSEX’, ‘SEXUAL RELATIONS’, ‘ONLINE FLIRTING’, and ‘OTHER’. These details have raised questions about the authenticity of the profile and its connection to Talarico.

Legal Dispute Over Account Ownership

Talarico’s attorneys have disputed the association, stating that the account was created using a hacked email address and was active for only 54 seconds. They argue that the birth date and zip code linked to the profile do not match Talarico’s, and that any claim of his involvement is false. The attorneys have threatened legal action if the allegations are published.

The Fling.com data breach record shows that the email was marked as ‘validated’ with a ‘Y’, indicating it was verified, which is different from the default ‘N’ setting. This suggests the email was intentionally used for the account, though it remains unclear who created it.

IP Address Links to Other Accounts

The IP address associated with the Fling.com account matches a separate database leak involving an email linked to Talarico’s sister, Madeline Talarico, used on Neopets. While this suggests the accounts may have originated from the same internet connection, it does not confirm Talarico’s direct involvement.

Townhall reports that the account was created just before Talarico began teaching sixth graders at Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. Despite the account’s brief activity, the profile’s explicit interests have sparked public scrutiny and debate over the candidate’s online presence.

Public Reaction and Legal Threats

The controversy has drawn attention to the broader issue of data privacy and the potential misuse of personal information. Talarico’s legal team has emphasized that the account was not used and that any claims of his involvement are unfounded, warning of potential legal consequences for publishing such allegations.
