Attorney General Todd Blanche has assured taxpayers that the Trump administration is ‘fighting hard’ against fraud, emphasizing the importance of protecting both vulnerable Americans and public funds. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Blanche highlighted the administration’s renewed focus on combating fraudulent activities that have long siphoned resources from essential programs.
Two Victims of Fraud
During the interview, Blanche acknowledged the perspective of Vice President JD Vance, who often emphasizes that fraud has two victims: those who need the programs and the taxpayers themselves. ‘The generosity of the American people, the taxes that you pay, the taxes that I pay, that Americans pay, those go to programs,’ Blanche explained. ‘We have made a decision as a country to help those that need it most in our country, whether it’s senior citizens, whether it’s our young people, whether it’s people who are disabled.’
New Efforts Against Fraud
Blanche outlined the administration’s new strategies, including the creation of a dedicated fraud division and increased collaboration among prosecutors, agents, and inspector generals. ‘We are fighting hard,’ he said. ‘We have a new fraud division. The vice president is working on it every single day. President Trump talks about it all the time, and you’re seeing billions and billions of dollars of money that’s either not going out, or we’re getting it back if it’s already gone out.’
Increased Enforcement
Blanche warned that the administration is taking a zero-tolerance approach to fraud, regardless of the amount stolen. ‘If you even steal $1, you should be very concerned that you’re going to get handcuffed,’ he said. ‘We are not looking at a fraud and say, ‘Oh, you only stole $1,000. You only applied for a PPP loan that gave you $5,000, we’re not going to worry about you.’ We’re now saying, ‘No, no, you can’t steal from the American taxpayer, whether it’s $1,000 or $500 million.’
Examples of Fraud
Blanche cited several alarming examples of fraud, including a hotel being built in Ghana with U.S. tax dollars and luxury cars like Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari being driven by fraudsters. ‘The examples of fraud are horrible,’ he said. ‘We had… a hotel being built in Ghana with our tax dollars. Pure fraud. Ok, a hotel being built. You have Mercedes Benz’s and Ferraris being driven by these fraudsters. So this is something that I think resonates and should resonate with the American taxpayer and the American people.’
