Though the commander-in-chief did not reveal the specific candidates he voted on after casting his ballot, he has vocally supported and rallied behind GOP candidates, posting lists of his endorsements for various states to Truth Social. In Florida, he listed:
TO THE GREAT PEOPLE OF FLORIDA, GET OUT AND VOTE FOR: – Ashley Moody for U.S. Senate – Byron Donalds for Governor – James Uthmeier for Attorney General – Wilton Simpson for Agriculture Commissioner – Jimmy Patronis for U.S. Congress (FL-01) – Austin Rogers for U.S. Congress… https://t.co/TiTJyEONgF pic.twitter.com/fDoExkdKyQ
Speaking with reporters after voting on Saturday, President Trump commented on his midterm blitz, referencing the political trend of the president’s party losing seats in the midterms.
. @POTUS : "Just two years ago, we were laughed at. We were a stupid country. We were a country led by idiots and morons and bad people and Radical Left people… Just take a look at France because that's what they'd like to have for our country — and I don't let that happen." pic.twitter.com/QzDEW1M9rX
In an effort to energize GOP voters, President Trump has held campaign rallies across the country in recent weeks, asking voters to “pretend I’m on the ballot.” Americans nationwide have already participated in early voting with just over one week to go before the midterm elections.
