Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has sharply criticized Republican lawmakers, calling them ‘the most spineless human beings I have seen on the face of the earth’ during an appearance on MS NOW’s ‘The Weekend.’ The remarks came as the midterm elections approach, with just 24 days left until voters head to the polls.
Warren Accuses GOP of Bowing to Trump
Warren said during the interview that Republican lawmakers have only one move: ‘bow down to Donald Trump.’ She argued that the party’s actions are entirely dictated by Trump’s influence, which she believes has led to a lack of leadership and accountability in Washington.
‘All they do is whatever Donald Trump tells them to do,’ Warren said. ‘This is why the midterm election in 24 days is so important. We’re not going to be back in session until after this election.’
Call for Change and Opposition to Trump Policies
Warren emphasized the need for a shift in leadership, stating that voters must elect candidates willing to ‘fight back’ against Trump’s policies. She specifically mentioned the need to address issues such as the ‘illegal tariffs,’ ‘cuts to people’s healthcare,’ and the ‘data centers’ built due to Trump’s influence.
‘We have a lot of great candidates who are ready to do it,’ she said, highlighting the importance of the upcoming elections in determining the direction of the country. Among the candidates she cited were Abdul El-Sayed and Peggy Flanagan.
Midterms Seen as Crucial for Political Shift
Warren’s comments underscore the significance of the midterms as a pivotal moment for the U.S. political landscape. She argued that the current administration’s policies, driven by Trump’s influence, are not in the best interest of the American people. The election, she said, is an opportunity to ‘push back against Donald Trump’ and elect leaders who will prioritize the nation’s needs over partisan loyalty.
As the election date approaches, the focus remains on the potential for a political realignment, with voters deciding the future of Congress and the direction of national policy.
