Connor Stringer of The Telegraph reported, “Lots of shouting and raised voices as they refuse to move for Secret Service.” Meanwhile, Christian Datoc of The Washington Examiner noted, “It’s getting very heated. USS and WH officials threatening to remove one Chinese official for interfering with shots and official WH cams.”
As the event unfolded, tensions flared on the south lawn of the White House as the Chinese delegation and U.S. officials fought over the placement of official government cameras. The U.S. Secret Service became increasingly involved in the situation, as Xi Jinping was expected to arrive shortly.
