Rachel Campos-Duffy, a co-host on Fox & Friends, recently described herself as ‘anti-war’ and ‘America First’, sparking a smear campaign on X. Users have resurfaced old clips in which she criticized Israel, leading to accusations of antisemitism.

A Controversial Political Stance

A permanent host since 2021, Campos-Duffy has taken critical stances toward Israel and questioned U.S. military involvement in the Iran War. She has also raised concerns about the impact of U.S. aid to Israel on grocery prices, challenging Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

Responding to the Smear Campaign

After one X user resurfaced a June clip in which Campos-Duffy criticized Israel’s role in the Iran negotiations, and another accused her of crossing over to the ‘dark side’, Campos-Duffy responded with a tweet:

“Calling for an end to war & a return to diplomacy & peace is crossing ‘into the dark side’?” she asked, before quoting a Bible verse. “‘Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness’ Isaiah 5:20.”

The replies to her post were largely unhinged, with users accusing her of being an antisemite and endorsing El-Sayed. She responded to one user who called her an ‘ignorant antisemite’ by stating, ‘Not anti semite. Just anti war & America First.’

Orwellian Criticism and Network Loyalty

The smear campaign took a more Orwellian turn with CUNY law professor Jeffrey Lax, who wrote in the Washington Examiner that Campos-Duffy’s positions are ‘wrong-think’ that Fox News must address. He argued that Fox’s most loyal viewers deserve to know where the network stands on its editorial positions.

With every Fox host and on-air contributor defending the Iran War, Israel, Ukraine, and militarism, one would think this supermajority confirms the worldviews of hawkish Republican viewers. Apparently not.

Writing to a user who said Oct. 31, “You’re an ignorant antisemite, ‘closet Hasan Piker supporter,’ and ‘Dumb beach [sic],’” Campos-Duffy replied, “Not anti semite. Just anti war & America First.”
