On Friday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Border Czar Tom Homan stated that ICE is carrying out deportations in the same manner as under President Obama, emphasizing that the agency is simply enforcing the laws written by Congress.
Comparing ICE to Nazis and Racists
Homan highlighted a significant increase in threats and assaults against ICE, attributing much of this hostility to the hateful rhetoric from political figures such as Mamdani, Gov. Hochul, and other lawmakers on Capitol Hill. He criticized these individuals for comparing ICE to racists, Nazis, and secret police for merely enforcing the law.
“If ICE is — if we are Nazis for enforcing that law, what’s that make you? You wrote the law. We’re not making this stuff,” Homan said, emphasizing that the agency is not responsible for the laws it enforces.
Deportation Numbers and Political Shift
He also noted that under President Obama, he received a Presidential Rank Award for removing 409,000 individuals from the country. Homan expressed bewilderment at how the party that once praised his work has since changed its stance.
“We’re doing the same thing we did under President Obama,” Homan remarked, underscoring that the current approach to deportation is consistent with past policies.
Homan’s comments come amid ongoing debates over immigration enforcement and the role of federal agencies. Critics argue that the rhetoric surrounding ICE has intensified, leading to increased hostility toward the agency and its personnel.
