Man Allegedly Orchestrated Reddit Plot to Assault Fiancée

An Arizona man allegedly orchestrated a Reddit plot to sexually assault his fiancée, according to Buckeye Police Department. Zarian Dyer, 23, was arrested on October 29 after investigators uncovered coordinated messages with Adrian Ayala, 20, who met him online. The two men planned the attack at their home, where the woman was caring for her two young children.
Detectives seized phones from both men and found messages showing they had coordinated the assault. The motive behind the plot remains unclear. Court records obtained by 12News captured Reddit messages from the day of the attack. Ayala’s account asked whether the woman was “in on” the plan. The other user replied, “Nope.”

Ayala wrote that he wanted to “back out” and felt “not comfortable if she not into it.” The other account pushed back, answering, “the more you threaten her the more she’ll get into it…” The same account told Ayala to “get here faster” while it tried to “fake kill time” at a nearby store. Store cameras later showed Dyer walking through a grocery store around 5:30 p.m. and leaving without buying anything.
The attack happened around 6 p.m. on October 16 at the couple’s home in Buckeye, a suburb west of Phoenix. The woman told officers a “random man” came to her door, asked to use the bathroom and then forced his way inside. She fought him off and escaped outside. Surveillance video caught him telling her that her fiancé said she would “be into this.”
Ayala slipped away before officers arrived. Police arrested him the next day at his home. He initially told his father a YouTuber had paid him to “reenact” an attack. He later confessed to arranging the assault with Dyer.
Dyer rejected any role and called the messages “disgusting.” He denied setting up the attack and kept his head down during the interview. Dyer faces counts of aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy. His bond stands at $500,000. Ayala left jail on a $25,000 bond.
