President Donald Trump has indicated he is considering firing Kimberly Guilfoyle, the U.S. Ambassador to Greece, amid ongoing ethics concerns. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Guilfoyle, former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., asked a Trump donor to pay her $100,000 Amex bill. The report detailed text messages between Guilfoyle and Eric Deters, a Trump donor, where she pleaded for him to cover her expenses ahead of her confirmation hearing.

Guilfoyle’s attorneys claimed that the $100,000 was money owed to her for speaking engagements and that her private jet travel was cleared by the State Department. However, the Wall Street Journal also revealed that Aktor Group, a Greek construction and energy company, was heavily promoted by Guilfoyle to push multi-billion-dollar natural gas deals across Europe and the Balkans. The newspaper noted that Aktor’s CEO flew Guilfoyle on a private jet to France, raising “pay-to-play” concerns.

The Associated Press, CNN, and The New York Post reported that President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considering firing Guilfoyle. A source told The Gateway Pundit that her ambassadorship may be pulled as early as this week. On Monday, a reporter from The Hill asked Trump if he had spoken to Guilfoyle and if he had considered firing her. Trump responded, “Well, we’re looking at it. Yeah, we’re not happy.”

Guilfoyle’s case has sparked a debate about transparency and ethics in diplomatic appointments. As the situation unfolds, it remains unclear whether the administration will take decisive action against the ambassador. The controversy highlights the ongoing scrutiny of high-profile political figures and their connections to business interests.
