Cowboys Fall to Winless Bucs in Disappointing Home Loss
Dallas Cowboys suffer another loss to the winless Buccaneers, raising concerns for the season.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed deep disappointment after his team fell to the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 24-16 home loss on Thursday night. The defeat marked the third straight game for the Cowboys, who had hoped to build momentum in the NFC East by securing a win against a struggling team.
Prescott’s Interceptions Highlight Concerns
Dak Prescott, the team’s quarterback, threw two critical interceptions, including one with 1:16 left in the game that sealed the Cowboys’ fate. The first interception came early in the match when Prescott’s pass deflected off the hands of tight end Jake Ferguson. The second interception, deep in Tampa Bay territory, ended any hopes of a comeback.
The Buccaneers, led by undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels, capitalized on their opportunities, with running back Bucky Irving and tight end Emeka Egbuka contributing key touchdowns. The Bucs’ slow start in the first half was quickly reversed with a strong second-half performance, including a 15-play drive that led to a 14-10 lead.
Rebounding from Recent Struggles
The Cowboys had rebounded from a tough loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro with a last-minute win against the Houston Texans. However, the performance against the Buccaneers raised more questions about their consistency and ability to execute under pressure. CeeDee Lamb, who had a career-high performance against Houston, was limited against the Bucs and was sidelined with a quad injury.
Despite the setback, Jones remained optimistic, stating, “We didn’t expect to be 2-3. We didn’t expect this Tampa team to come in here 0-4, either.” The Cowboys will have a nine-day break before their next game against the Green Bay Packers, giving them time to reassess and make necessary adjustments.
Call for Better Execution
Prescott acknowledged the need for improvement, saying, “We’ve got to trust the work that we’re putting in and then more importantly, we’ve got to come out and just execute better.” The team is expected to face challenges in the coming weeks, with a busy schedule that includes games against the Packers and the Eagles before a home matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
