In a heartwarming ceremony on National Adoption Day, a Dayton, Ohio couple finalized the adoption of six foster children they had cared for over the past four years. Kevin and Jennifer Kremer, who have been fostering the children since 2020, celebrated their new status as legal parents in Judge David Brannon’s courtroom.

A Family Reunited

The Kremer family gathered in Judge Brannon’s courtroom for the adoption finalization, which was a deeply emotional and joyous occasion. Jennifer Kremer expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to provide a permanent home for the children, stating, “We’ve wanted them around since the day we met them. So, I mean, we have always known since they came that we would be with them as long as they needed us to be.”

Kevin Kremer shared his own sentiments, emphasizing the significance of giving the children a “forever home.” “I’m just happy to give them their forever home. We love them with all our hearts; they’ve been in our home, now it’s forever,” he said.

Support for Foster Care

The adoption took place on National Adoption Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the need for permanent, loving homes for children in foster care. Judge Brannon celebrated the event on social media, writing, “Congratulations to the Kremer Family that finalized their adoption in Probate Court!!!”

Montgomery County Commissioner Mary McDonald was also present at the event and shared her own journey as a foster parent. “I adopted a child. I started off being a foster parent and grew in the process and fell in love with the process of being a part of Montgomery County, and I eventually adopted my son,” she said. “We’ve had the most wonderful experience not only working with the county but just knowing that we have the child that we wanted to be our very own.”

Encouraging Others to Foster

The Kremer couple has encouraged others to consider fostering and adopting children in need. Their story highlights the importance of providing stable, loving homes for children who have spent time in foster care, and their commitment to the process serves as an inspiration to others.
