Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has disclosed that former Special Counsel Jack Smith collected information on over 639,000 Republican voters and donors during his Arctic Frost investigation. The data included personal details such as home addresses, credit card information, occupations, and donation amounts, according to newly released documents.
DOJ Involved in Data Collection
A memo obtained by Fox News Digital suggests that the Biden administration’s Justice Department also played a role in gathering this information. Grassley’s ongoing investigation into the Arctic Frost probe, launched in 2022 to examine efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, has revealed that Smith’s office and the DOJ obtained spreadsheets containing detailed personal voter information for over 639,000 individuals.
Grassley noted that out of these, more than 148,000 were identified as donors, many contributing small-dollar amounts. The investigation has also uncovered improper subpoenas for phone records of 44 GOP lawmakers, with gag orders preventing them from learning about the DOJ’s actions.
House Judiciary Confirms Coordination
A report from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan confirmed that Jack Smith coordinated with the Biden DOJ to monitor political opponents. The documents released by Republicans further reveal that investigators improperly obtained phone records of GOP lawmakers, raising concerns about the legality and scope of the investigation.
The findings have intensified scrutiny over the Arctic Frost probe, with lawmakers and watchdogs questioning the methods used to gather personal data and the potential overreach of federal authorities. As the Senate continues its review, the implications for privacy and political oversight remain a focal point of the ongoing debate.
