Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters expressed confidence in his party’s ability to secure key victories on Election Day, stating that Republicans are poised to ‘surprise a lot of people’ in critical races. Speaking during an interview on Breitbart News Daily, Gruters emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong campaign effort across all states, particularly those that are traditionally considered safe for the GOP.

Strategic Focus on Key States

When asked about the decision to allocate significant resources to states like Kansas, Iowa, and Florida, Gruters explained that the RNC’s strategy is to ‘expand the map’ during the midterm cycle. He noted that as polling became tighter, Democrats began shifting their resources, prompting the GOP to take similar action to ensure competitive outcomes. ‘We’re going to be fine in South Carolina, Kansas, Nebraska. They will all be Republicans at the end of the day,’ Gruters said.

Gruters also highlighted the necessity of treating every race with the same level of seriousness, regardless of the current polling numbers. ‘You have to run a race like you’re 10 points down. You have to take every race seriously, and you’ve got to fight for it,’ he said, reinforcing the RNC’s commitment to a comprehensive and aggressive campaign strategy.

Confidence in Get-Out-the-Vote Efforts

The chairman emphasized that Republicans are well-prepared for Election Day, with a robust get-out-the-vote effort that he described as ‘second to none.’ He noted that the president’s presence in various states is a reflection of the challenges the GOP faces, but he remained optimistic about the party’s ability to overcome these obstacles. ‘The good thing is Republicans work. We’ve been preparing, and we’re ready to go,’ Gruters said.

Gruters concluded with a strong prediction that the GOP would ‘drop the hammer tonight,’ signaling that he expects the party to deliver unexpected results in several races. His comments underscore the RNC’s determination to secure a strong showing in the midterm elections, despite the challenges posed by the Democratic campaign strategy and the current political climate.
