Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters emphasized that the key to a GOP victory lies in maximizing voter turnout, during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily on Election Day. Gruters highlighted the importance of mobilizing Republican voters across the country, stating that if they turn out in sufficient numbers, the party will secure a win.

Focus on Florida Amid Weather Challenges

During the interview, Gruters discussed the challenges faced in Florida, where historic rains have caused flooding and disrupted Election Day operations. He noted that several counties have opened their Emergency Operations Center (EOC) offices to assist voters, despite the severe weather conditions. Gruters confirmed that there would be no extension of voting hours, underscoring the urgency for voters to cast their ballots.

Gruters also mentioned that the state has seen a significant increase in Republican voters, with an estimated 1.5 million more registered Republicans compared to Democrats. This shift has transformed Florida from a once-purple state into a stronghold for the GOP, he said.

Recruiting Strong Candidates and Countering Leftist Nominations

Gruters praised the GOP’s strategy of recruiting mainstream, central-type candidates who he believes will resonate with voters. In contrast, he criticized the Democratic Party for nominating what he described as ‘crazy wackadoo leftists’ in the mold of figures like Bernie Sanders and Mamdani.

He also highlighted the party’s extensive efforts to get out the vote, with staff deployed in 27 to 28 states for over six months. Gruters expressed confidence in a potential late surge in voter turnout, which he believes could surprise many observers.

Commitment to a Free Florida and National Strategy

Gruters reiterated the importance of maintaining Florida’s status as a free and conservative state, noting that many refugees have moved there due to the state’s policies on education and healthcare. He stressed that the GOP must continue to advocate for these values and not retreat to a non-conservative government.

Looking beyond Florida, Gruters emphasized the national strategy of recruiting candidates who can win across the country, reinforcing the party’s belief that their efforts will translate into a successful election outcome.
