He expressed gratitude for the support he received and pledged to assist Hinojosa and her team during the transition period.

“I let Gina know that I would assist her and her team in a period of transition,” Abbott said. “But I also want everybody to know that the thing that I’m most proud about is that you all helped me to be your governor for 12 years. Thank you very much.”

Hinojosa Promises Accountability and Service

Hinojosa took to social media to address Texans, promising to earn the responsibility of being governor. She made a solemn promise to every Texan, regardless of their political allegiance, emphasizing that the government belongs to the people.

“Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all,” Hinojosa began. “Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it.”

She also reiterated her commitment to transparency and fairness, stating that there will be no special rules for the wealthy or powerful, and that no one in her own party will be exempt from accountability.

“The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility,” Hinojosa concluded. “And I intend to earn it every single day.”

Historical Significance of the Election
