President Donald Trump rallied MAGA supporters in Youngstown on Monday night, urging them to vote for Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted and gubernatorial contender Vivek Ramaswamy in the upcoming midterm elections. Trump traveled from Washington, DC, to the Covelli Centre in Ohio, accompanied by YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul and legendary football coach Jon Gruden, both native sons of the state. Gruden opened the event with brief remarks, highlighting Husted’s ties to the University of Dayton, where he was a former teammate.

Trump Calls for Strong Republican Majorities

Trump took the stage to Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.”, energizing the crowd with his message. He emphasized the importance of voting for Husted and Ramaswamy, stating, “Twenty-two days from now, Ohio is going to defeat Sherrod Brown and elect Jon Husted to the United States Senate.” Trump praised Ramaswamy as “a very smart guy” and “a very good friend,” adding that voters would be “very happy” with his leadership if elected governor. He also outlined Ramaswamy’s plans, including tax cuts, which he claimed would benefit Ohioans.

Attack on Democrats and Critics

Trump launched a sharp critique of former Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who is running against Husted. He accused Brown and Democrats of causing “the worst inflation in American history,” “the highest energy prices in American history,” and a “worst trade deficit in American history.” He also claimed that under Brown’s leadership, “25 million people poured across our borders from all over the world,” including “11,888 murderers,” many of whom committed multiple crimes. Trump warned that if Democrats win in November, they would “do the exact same thing again.”

Trump also criticized Ramaswamy’s opponent, Amy Acton, former Ohio Department of Health director. He called Acton a “total lunatic” who “shut down Ohio schools during COVID,” “locked up your factories and your businesses,” and made life “miserable” for residents. He claimed she would “do it again in a second.”

Call to Action

Trump concluded by urging voters to “vote to keep America first with Senator Jon Husted.” His speech focused on the importance of a strong Republican majority in the Senate and House, framing the midterms as a critical opportunity to reshape the political landscape in the United States.
