President Donald Trump dismissed reports that he is considering replacing White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, stating there is “zero chance” he will remove her from her role. During a press briefing on the South Lawn, Trump called the recent Politico report a “fake story,” emphasizing that Wiles is a key member of his administration and will remain for a long time.
Trump Calls Wiles ‘Phenomenal’
“She’s been incredible,” Trump said, praising Wiles for her work and resilience, especially after undergoing cancer surgery. He described her as “smart,” “tough,” and a “phenomenal” leader. Trump also criticized Politico for publishing what he called “fake news,” accusing the outlet of fabricating the story about his potential successor.
Politico Names Potential Successors
According to Politico, Trump was reportedly considering several names for the Chief of Staff position, including Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, New York Yankees President Randy Levine, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. However, Trump denied any such plans, calling the report “TOTAL FAKE NEWS.”
Trump’s Outspoken Criticism of Politico
Trump’s frustration with Politico was evident as he called the outlet’s reporting “fake news” and accused it of lacking integrity and honesty. He also claimed that the report was released with full knowledge that it was false. “Susie is here, and she’s going to be here for a long time,” he reiterated, highlighting his confidence in Wiles’ continued service.
Wiles’ Role in Trump’s Administration
Wiles has been a trusted advisor to Trump since the beginning of his presidency, playing a critical role in managing the White House operations. Trump emphasized that her loyalty and experience make her an essential part of his team. “She has been with me since the beginning,” he said, adding that her presence is a testament to her value to the administration.
Trump’s Continued Focus on Leadership
Despite the recent media attention, Trump remained focused on his administration’s achievements, calling the first two years of his presidency “the most successful in the history of the presidency.” He reiterated that any decisions about leadership roles would be made by him, underscoring his control over the White House.
