A prominent Catholic priest known for his work in exorcism and spiritual warfare, Fr. Chad Ripperger, has been ordered by Denver Archbishop James Golka to suspend all public ministry for a year. The directive, confirmed by LifeSiteNews, includes canceling public appearances, online homilies, and writings until September of next year.

Ripperger informed LifeSiteNews that he would have to cancel his speaking engagement at the company’s anniversary gala in April, which led the outlet to become aware of the arrangement. He stated, “The Archbishop has asked me to take a break on public speaking.” Additionally, he was prohibited from offering a written statement to be read or filming a video to be shown at the dinner.

The director of communications for the Archdiocese of Denver, Kelly Clark, told LifeSiteNews that Archbishop Golka had asked Fr. Ripperger to “consider a one-year fast from public speaking and interviews” to give the exorcist time to devote himself to his society, the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, and to the people he serves. “Fr. Ripperger readily agreed,” Clark said. “At the end of the year, they will review the arrangement together.”

Clark added that Archbishop Golka is thankful for Ripperger’s service as a priest and exorcist, as well as for “the generous spirit in which he received this request.” The statement ended with a request to pray for Fr. Ripperger and the society.

Fr. Ripperger has recently appeared on many popular shows — including podcasts hosted by Joe Rogan, Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson, and Sean Ryan — racking up millions of views as he discussed topics like the occult, addiction, communism, and possession. He told Ryan that he believes many of the world’s leaders engage in pedophilia and devil worship.

Ryan later told Carlson that he decided to return to Catholicism after speaking with Fr. Ripperger.
