Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested over 100 gang members in less than a week, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) press release. The arrests, which took place between October 4 and 10, include 131 individuals affiliated with violent criminal organizations, including 22 MS-13 members and 13 Tren de Aragua affiliates.

Targeting Foreign Terrorist Organizations

MS-13, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, and Tren de Aragua (TdA) are designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the Trump administration, which labeled them as such in February 2025. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin praised the arrests, stating, “The best that America has to offer are on the frontlines every day to ensure that the worst of humanity cannot threaten or harm innocent Americans.”

Arrests Span Multiple Locations

The arrests span various locations across the United States, with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) making the majority of the arrests. Among those detained was Jose Luis Perez-Arrias, a suspected TdA hitman who was originally arrested by Border Patrol in 2023 but released by the Biden administration. Similarly, Gustavo Adolfo Flores-Ramirez, an MS-13 member from El Salvador, was arrested in Las Vegas and faces multiple charges, including aggravated homicide and rape of a minor.

Teen Gang Members Highlight Concerns

A 14-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, associated with Los Piratas Gang, was arrested in Denver with a Glock 48 pistol. The teenager faces charges of first-degree murder and illegal discharge of a weapon. This case illustrates a growing concern about the criminal backgrounds of some illegal alien minors before they reach adulthood.

Administration Reports Significant Gang Arrests

DHS noted that the 131 arrests are just a fraction of the gang-related administrative arrests made since January 20, 2025, when President Donald Trump began his second term. ICE has made 12,018 such arrests, with over 1,500 TdA affiliates and 1,965 MS-13 affiliates detained.
