U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a Nigerian immigrant who was canvassing for Democrat congressional candidate Janelle Stelson after being accused of exposing himself in a residential area, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The incident occurred on September 27 in East Pennsboro Township, where the individual was charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct after allegedly exposing himself near a park where children and other residents were present.
Arrest and Charges
Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor, and was taken into ICE custody on October 1. The DHS identified Igbojekwe as a canvasser for Stelson, the Democrat nominee in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, citing local reports about the incident.
According to court records, Igbojekwe initially faced an indecent exposure charge and two disorderly conduct counts. Prosecutors later withdrew the indecent exposure charge and one disorderly conduct count at a September 30 court proceeding. The remaining charge of disorderly conduct was resolved with a guilty plea.
Legal and Immigration Background
Igbojekwe entered the United States legally in June 2017, but his authorized stay expired in November 2019. Despite this, he remained in the country. The Biden administration granted him deferred action in September 2021, though the department did not specify the basis for this decision or whether it remained in effect at the time of his arrest.
Conservative activist Scott Presler raised questions about Igbojekwe’s presence, noting that he had campaign flyers for Stelson in his vehicle and was registered to an Aurora, Colorado, home address.

“It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public,” said ICE Deputy Director Charles Wall. “Every single day, the men and women of DHS are working hard to target and remove dangerous illegal aliens like this sicko from our communities. The Trump Administration will always put the safety of the American people first.”
