R&B singer and television personality Ray J was rushed to a hospital Thursday after experiencing a medical emergency during a livestream, according to reports. The incident occurred while Ray J, whose legal name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was broadcasting from Fab Factory, a Hollywood recording facility.
Emergency services were called after he began showing signs of health problems, as reported by TMZ. His mother was also present on the stream at the time. TMZ obtained images showing paramedics assisting the singer as he lay shirtless with medical equipment attached to his chest. Another video captured the singer eating from a bag of chips as paramedics lifted him into an ambulance.
Sources told TMZ that Ray J was taken to a hospital for heart-related issues. However, no specific diagnosis or detailed update on his condition has been reported yet. The 45-year-old has been participating in what Page Six called a ‘180-day streaming subathon’ dubbed ‘Rayhab.’ According to the outlet, he had been staying up for long stretches while streaming.
This hospitalization follows two other medical scares this year. In January, Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas with pneumonia and heart pain. In May, he was also hospitalized after being knocked out during a celebrity fight against Supa Hot Fire. Doctors were investigating a possible concussion and noted that his heart rate had slowed.
Ray J is best known for his reality TV career, hit song ‘One Wish,’ and an infamous sex tape with then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. His recent health issues have raised concerns about his well-being, especially given his ongoing streaming activities and the physical toll they may be taking.
