Haley Stevens.
Stevens’ Endorsement Sparks Surge
Democrat Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens joined Republican Michigan Senate Nominee Mike Rogers at church on Sunday before announcing her endorsement of the Trump-backed Republican. In her statement, Stevens emphasized her decision to distance herself from El-Sayed’s campaign, citing concerns over his stance on issues like campus activism.
“As you may have seen, our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Abdul, said that I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away. And he’s right, and that’s why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today,” Stevens said. She also condemned Hasan Piker, a controversial figure known for his anti-establishment rhetoric, and his alleged influence on college campuses.
Rogers’ Confidence and Strategy
Rogers appeared upbeat after casting his vote, expressing optimism about the campaign’s progress. “We have talked to literally thousands and thousands and thousands of Michiganders. We feel really good about where we are today!” he told reporters.
Rogers also highlighted the support of a voter who, despite being a lifelong Democrat, chose to support him due to his moderate stance. “Here’s somebody who said, I voted Democrat all the way down the list, except for one person who I think is too extreme for our state,” Rogers said. He praised the voter’s courage and encouraged her to continue being a Democrat.
