The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged 16 noncitizens with voter fraud and election crimes, including falsely claiming citizenship to register to vote and voting in federal elections. All of the individuals charged are lawful permanent residents, according to the DOJ.

In Minnesota alone, ten aliens were charged with voter fraud. The noncitizens include Liberian nationals Bhator Konah Bryant, Alan Barbu Kargbo, and Chris Adam Pettiquoi, Lithuanian national Edvile Vaidoto Edmunds, Ghanaian national Joshua Frederick Kofi Edzie, German national Paul Kras, Bosnian national Fadil Rasim Ozegovic, Brazilian national Aparecido Donizetti Padovan, Canadian national Christian Liam Schenk, and South African national Hester Sophia Weihmann.

One Italian national, Andrea Catanese, allegedly voted in the 2024 general election, falsely claimed she had never voted in a federal election when she applied for naturalization, and then repeated the statement to the immigration authority reviewing her application.

In another instance, Bahamian national Terrance Patrick Evans allegedly voted in the 2024 federal election despite being a noncitizen. Three other aliens were indicted in Louisiana for illegally voting in a federal election, including Cuban national Pedro Pablo Ruiz, Mexican national Zianya Yllaly Zamorano, and Nicaraguan national Dudley Francisco Zeledon. All three noncitizens allegedly voted in the 2024 general election.

In Wisconsin, a North Macedonian national, Sara Luma, was charged with unlawfully voting as a noncitizen after she allegedly voted in the 2024 general election. She also allegedly falsely claimed she was a citizen on her voter registration. She later admitted to federal law enforcement that she had registered to vote.
